Oh Woweee. It's been a while.
12:00 PM, Friday 3/31/06

Good lord. It has been a long ass time since I updated this site. I'm really hoping this will change, as I have a large quantity of content I want to put up. Finding time is difficult, however. I will try to stop being a pansy and get all those lessons I started filled out. After that, it's on to more significant content, that having to do with my personal projects both in music and elsewhere.

DreamHost has actually given me the amount of space and bandwidth I'd need to start hosting some multimedia files and more complicated images, so I may try to integrate that into the site as well.

Wish me luck!

Alter Bridge
4:52 PM, Tuesday 4/26/05

It started a year ago when I went in to my guitar teacher and asked for help with my vibrato. He taught me the basics and pointed out a counter-example to proper technique: Mark Tremonti, then the guitar player for Creed. I went through some of the Creed music videos and watched as, sure enough, not only was Mark without any measure of vibrato, but he also lacked the ability to keep notes in tune, and play on the beat during his solos. Since then he's kind of the perpetual joke between us, more because we're jealous of his PRS signature edition contract, but also in part because we could both kick his ass with an ax in hand.

Since then, however, Mark has come a long way. Not only has he left Christian Rock as a result of Creed's break up, but he's also decided to learn how to play. While he still can't vibrato, and while his live solos make me cringe in utter over-wahed agony and sloppy shredder dischord, he seems to have progressed quite a bit. Just the fact that he was able to get the solos right in the studio, albeit with the help of Pro Tools, says something. He's got some cool melodic playing in songs like "Broken Wings" and "Burn It Down," and shit, the rhythm part to "One Day Remains" is just cool, no matter what planet your from.

When I heard "Open Your Eyes," I was shocked to hear a fast and clean solo from Mark. I couldn't believe he'd gone from the shitty solo in Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" to this, so I had to investigate. The only live video I could find was locked under a restricted section of the band's E-Team site. Thus I joined. Regardless of what I think of aspects of the guitar playing, as the owner of a PRS Tremonti SE and as a HUGE fan of Myles Kennedy's voice (god that guy has pipes on CD), I decided to not rip the band off and submit to the E-Team's demand that I help spread the word. From this day forth, there will be some Alter Bridge banners and the like on the site. Tremonti's questionable lead guitar work aside, I have come to respect these guys alot as a band, and sadly enough, have had only their debut album in my car CD player for the past three months. Check them out at AlterBridge.com.

That's their logo, bitches

Myles, you are the man! Thanks for showing that there are still rock singers don't rely on studio technicians and a $4000 effects rack to wail!

According to Michael, "math homework is more enjoyable than sex." I must protest. Then again, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Except Hitler. And Stalin. And Mickey Mouse.

Fairly Major Update
2:16 AM, Tuesday 4/12/05

In the past two days I've put up 95% of my article for your edification on basic electric guitar knowledge. It's freakin huge. Enjoy. It's in the guitar section under projects. I also did what I should have done a long time ago: make the entire site systematically template-based. It will make updates go alot faster. Oh yeah, and I also put up a basic CSS style sheet to make links hover. Cool. Now start reading stuff.

Chords and stuff
12:50 AM , Wednesday 4/6/05

I added a lesson on super basic chords and god knows what else. I've kind of lost track of what I've added and what was already there. In any case, it's here. Enjoi!

Another Lesson up
6:25 PM, Friday 3/25/05

Three more lessons are up and a bunch more are partially completed. All pretty basic stuff so far. Check it out in my projects section.

More updates arriving and on their way
10:30 PM, Wednesday 3/23/05

I'm going to put up a lesson under "projekt" so that there is at least something around here. Just a basic lesson. I should be able to flush out the basics by the time school starts again on Monday.

And It's Up!
12:31 AM, Friday 3/4/05

First version of the site goes up. Right now there isn't jack shit around here, so don't get mad!
